Chicago Trip #2

Well this weekend we found ourselves once again on the road to Chicago with Jonathan and Caroline Robbins. It was Caroline's birthday...and she wanted to go to Medevil Times Dinner Theater and she wanted to go to the dunes ahead of time. I had never been to the dunes and I so enjoyed myself. The weather was actually quite cool, but the water was fairly warm. I just enjoyed the the breeze off the water. We also took lots of pics. Jonathan had not intended on getting wet but we had already got a little wet so we waded out to about his knees and then he saw a huge wave coming in so he turned around and took off running only to hit a dip in the sand and fell down on all fours into the water. Caroline and I laughed so hard. Let's just say the fun didn't stop there. I will not post the pictures of my seriously deranged husband in his "New getup", due to the fact I live in the same house as him and if I would post them he may never let me see the light of day again. (Just kidding) Jonathan and I really needed this trip. Even thought the weekend was shared with friends we had a wonderful romantic time. We plan to come back in October and enjoy more of the dune trails. (and to take more pictures) We only climbed one dune and it was one of the shorter trails. And by the time we got to the dunes I had already taken lots of pics down by the water and decided not to take my camera to the top of the dune. I could have kicked myself. Oh well, hindesight is 20/20 right? After we left there we headed to Medevil Times. And aside from one frantic "CHCOLATE BREAK" for the Prego Mama, in the bad part of Chicago where all of them left me in the car BY MYSELF at a gas station.....we got to Medevil Times just fine. The food was great and the show was ok. Here are the pictures of our wonderful time.

I love this picture of Caroline she is now just over 4 months. The baby is healthy and active and moves around alot. She goes in about a week to find out what she is having.

Chicago trip to Shed Aquarium

We headed out early for Chicago....for the Shedd Aquarium. Jonathan and Caroline Robbins and Zach and Jill (Gaskins) Hansel joined us. We really had a good time. Caroline told us alot about growing up in Chicago on our road trip. We got the Aquarium just in time to see the first feeding. There was a question and answer session with the diver but lets just say we heard more of her breathing and all the bubbles then we did of her talking. Lots of cool fish and some really ugly fish and creatures were seen. One fish I read about it would be one male among several female fish. If the male in that "school" would die...the oldest female fish would take on the males bright colors and would have a literal sex change to keep being able to have more baby fish. So it would literally grow the sexual organs to be able to fertalize the eggs. I was astonished that this could happen. I couldn't help but think how creative God must have been when he created all these different fish. And these are just the creatures under the water. It is amazing to me.

This long fish is a "lung fish" his name is Granddad. He came to the aquarium when it first opened in 1933!!! These fish can live under the dirt and mud for up to 7 years with out the need for living in water. Awsome huh???

this guy is really ugly and don't you just love the big lips. I got a good laugh at his expense

Another weekend

We decided last minute to make a trip to Dayton, Oh to go to the Air force museum. We made a breakfast stop at Boyden's bakery where we ate our "to die for" doughnuts. If any of you come to our house we have got to take you there. They are the best cream filled doughnuts in the world. Then we headed on our way....and then with another potty stop for "the mother of Willis" (Read previous blog) the boys suprised us with buying "cowboy hats" (which thru out the rest of the trip they continued to embarass Caroline and me) Funny thing....we got thru one hanger at the museum and "Mama" decided she was hungry along with the boys. So we left and went to McDonalds and then we voted on wether or not to go back. We decided to go shopping. We went to Baby's R Us and to Dayton Mall. There was a great country store that I LOVED!!!! Then as we headed home we stopped at the grave yard where my grandparents are buried and left some flowers. I miss them really bad at times...but I am so glad that they are happy in heaven. Then as we headed home we saw an awful accident. Someone was probably very hurt, it looked like they had rolled the car. We took a moment to say a prayer for them..... and to thank God for His protection on us. It was a wonderful weekend and we plan on going back to maybe get thru the rest of the museum. ( I was really upset that I bearly got any pics of us but tons of just what we did. Guess I need to learn how to be a better photographer.)
