Friday Vacation

Water ride day at silver dollar city. (even though we only did one water ride) We rode several of the other rides again too.

On a side note: I don't really like my skirt that I have on. But I needed something light to wear. I found Wind pant style capri pants for $1 a piece. So I bought 2 paris unsewed them and made a skirt out of them. One big trouble was they were about 2 sizes to big....but with the draw string i could pull it tighter. It did make it a little uncomfortable because they were to big...and it looked a little bunched. But Jon said it didn't look to bad. And it dried SOOOO fast.(I think next time I will let my mom walk me thru it...I was ready to throw my sewing machine thru the window!!!!)

I got BBQ Chicken Nachos. Jon got a combo plate with chicken and sausage. He couldn't eat all of it so we took the chicken to the motel.

BRANSON LANDING....Friday night we went shopping. It was a little like those Open air Malls Like Metropolis or Clay Terris. Plus it was by some waterfront. Which was SOOOO relaxing!

OUR BIG VACATION PURCHASE!!!!!!

Just kidding...although Jonathan would be thrilled if we could afford something like this. Maybe one day, but he did ask to have his picture by it.

There was a golf cart parked outside one of the stores and Jonathan snuck and sat down in it and said "Quick take my Picture" He is so funny! Just like a big kid!

Our dinner....kind of like a Denny's in a way. They had a small buffet with some big meats on it but it was $10 and we were not that hungry. So I got a club sandwich and I forget what Jon got. The service was very southern and wonderful.

Our favorite treat on vacation!!! We had several coupons for it so, with it being Jon's favorite treat....plus most days we only ate 1 big meal...we indulged.

Thursday vacation

SILVER DOLLAR CITY....one of my favorite parts of vacation. We were able to get season passes so we went about 3 or 4 days off and on. It was a blast. We had NO lines....which normally happens when almost everyone in the park is old enough to be your grandma and grandpa. Although there was one chipper old couple that kept riding one of my favorite rides. (Powder Keg)

Pretty good ride, just a little jerky. I was scared Jonathan was going to get his hand cut off because he had his hands up so high.
A big spinny ride....that Jon wanted no part of. It spun around as well as going back and forth on a arced track. Pretty fun.
Big barn swing. Kind of like the Pirate ship ride (for those amusement park buffs) But you have NOTHING in front of you. Also made you feel like you were doing the huge rollar coaster hills over and over. It went really high....almost parallel with the bar it was swinging from!!!!
POWDER KEG...my favorite ride. This ride is sent you straight out till there was no more tack. Then it lifted you up sideways to a different track...and you go forward just a little...then you wait...all the sudden WHOOOOOOOM shoots you straight up a huge hill and then straight back down. With lots of curves and one more huge hill!!! TOTALY AWSOME ride.

We had so fun. We realize we might not have many more vacations like this with out kids in tow. (NO I AM NOT HINTING!!! ) So we got to ride about 25 plus rides in just about 2 days.
We also got to go the the fish hatchery. It was kind of neat. Here the guy is transferring some of the bigger Salmon out of the baby tanks into the adult tank
Then Shopping!!!! YEA!!!!

Wednesday of vacation

Ok, I realize this is long overdue...but I am trying to catch up.

2nd putt-putt game....Jonathan wins!!! I think I see a tie breaker still to come.

I did manage 2 hole in one's but still managed to lose on the dreaded HOLE 15!!!!
Ok, some may not approve but i have always wanted to do those "dance revelution" games in the arcades. So since there was hardly anyone there...and your not really dancing just moving your feet. Jonathan and I decided to try it out. Well first time...I did the practice session...only to find out I kept missing the steps due to being on the WRONG PAD!!!! How silly am I? Then Jon and I both did it togather. It was quite funny.

(in almost every scene, Satan was some where lurking not talking but just trying to lure people away from Jesus. He was by Judas' side alot of times. It gave the visual of how Satan is always there.)

The play was pretty good. The first half was excellent, but the 2nd half was a tad dissappointing. But the story of Christ always inspires me to be a better Christian. Not that I need a play to give me a new determination...but it is nice to be able to worship and have a new Appreciation for what My Jesus has done for me.

Vacation at its best!!!!

On the way we JUST HAD to stop at Lamberts café. Home of the Throwed rolls!!!! Wonderful food, and we left stuffed and ready for a nap!!!

After we unloaded at the motel, we took off for Silver Dollar City and made it in time to sit FOREVER in the Outdoor theater…and wait for Jeff and Sherry Easter and Greater Vision sing!! It was a great concert. And we got to sit by a lovely older couple, who in looks alone the man reminded me and Jon of Papaw Collingsworth. (kind of a neat blessing)

Tuesday, we got up and rode the Ducks. Really neat ride. Our driver was really funny. And the ride down the steep road and Plunging in the water was great!!!! We then went and played Putt-putt which yours truly beat Darling Husband by 1 stroke. (Jonathan has accused me of cheating!) Then we went to “Shorty smalls” (a bbq place) Jon got Pork BBQ and I got taco salad. Then we headed to Silver Dollar City, on our season passes, and we were able to ride 5 rides all in less then 2 hours. (that included our tram rides to and from our car.) Kind of helps when every one in the park is old enough to be my grandparents!!!! I will post pics of that later. (It has been raining ALL of today so no Silver Dollar City today. Supposed to let up tomorrow afternoon.)

After a hour our so nap, we headed back to Silver dollar city for the Tally trio concert. But due to the heavy rain, we walked in the park for about 20 min. and then turned around and left and decided to go to a “Pierce Arrow” show. Which is a really great group we saw 4 years ago, and their comedy act is THE BEST!!!!!

In a few minutes we are off to see the Drama "The Promise". I am really excited to see it. We have enjoyed ourselves inspite of the rain, but are looking forward to a break in the rain so we can enjoy Silver Dollar City. I feel a little like Glen Payne and how he said "I love OLD PEOPLE" (die hard Cathedral fans will get that one.)

God knows...Finally on our way

Well we got up and ready to head out at a little before 4:15....but the car wouldn't start!!!!! We both prayed and still it wouldn't start. SO I guess God had other plans for us. Because we had decided to stay in Terre Haute.....we had to call his brother who was at his mom's near Shelbyville. He and his dad went and got our Red car....and DROVE ALL THE WAY TO TERRE HAUTE to bring it to us. We are unloading our "PAID FOR GRANNY GETTER" and Loading up "Red". And hopefully be on our way soon. I hope Lamberts is still in our future for lunch. Plus a Greater Vision Concert tonight at Silver Dollar City. (the Southern Gospel Picnic is still going on this week. Which means free concerts of lots of southern Gospel groups. Tally trio, Martins Ect. And for $10 more dollars then we planned on spending there we got season tickets and can go everynight to the big concert!!!!!)

Pray for us this vacation is already panning out to be an adventure!!
